Character Description: Ransu or "Lance" is Zhais' cousin on his mother’s side, and the son of a ninja chieftain.
Lance uses a custom sword with a serrated edge and a toothed hook on the hilt.
The back of the blade is connected to a long, retractable chain that Lance feeds through a holding crystal; a relatively large gem that holds a pocket dimension about the size of a shipping container.
Lance often uses this combination to drag enemies into melee-range, or for quick traversal outside of combat.
Lance's combat proficiency is a great source of pride for him, though it is one he seldom has the opportunity to exercise at it's full potential.
The irony of spending their lives training to fight in the interest of never having to was one that Lance had always been frustrated with.
Despite training tirelessly for physical fitness and combat aptitude, These ninja live a life of peace, this is simply one of their many means of maintaining it.
The Ninja clan: Kamen o kabutta hito-tachi (仮面をかぶった人たち) or "The masked ones" are strict when it comes to secrecy.
They live in a highly secluded village on a small island that is treacherous to get to, nearly impossible to discover by accident, and train religiously in preparation for any potential invasion.
All members of the clan wear ceramic masks when outside their village, and anyone unmasked by an outsider would have to kill all witnesses, or be banished forever.
The chieftain's younger sister was one such Exile, revealing her true name and face to Vittoro after falling for him.
In her love-struck foolishness, she even attempted to sneak Vittoro into the village, hoping to spend a few weeks of quiet romance with him.
Years later, Vittoro would return to "request" their aid in avenging the chieftain's sister.
When Lance met his cousin and uncle for the first time on this day, he and his clan attacked them without hesitation.
Lance was actually excited to meet intruders strong enough to reach the island in good health.
However, a quick display of the difference in their power convinced them to hear him out.
After being unmoved by Vittoro's stories, he promised the masked ones more land and authority, but they refused to lend their strength to his cause.
The chieftain claimed that he would rather fight and die with honor than to sell out humanity for power, an ideal that earned Vittoro's respect, so He left peacefully, promising never to return.
As Vittoro and Zhais reached the Village perimeter, Lance met them at the gate.
He had spent his life honing his aura, martial arts and swordsmanship, and he intended to use them.
With that, Lance became the 5th member of Vittoro's elite force, the beginning of humanity's ruin.
To this day, only the masked ones know his true name.
